The Columbian College Office of Technology Services is hiring student employees for the Fall 2016 semester!

While at OTS, you will gain experience supporting advanced A/V systems, specialized software in support of the College's research and academic initiatives, as well as industry-standard enterprise IT resources including file and print sharing using Microsoft Active Directory and virtual applications delivered through Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop.

We are currently only seeking students that have received a Federal Work-Study award.

Salary Range: $11.50 - $13.50 hourly

Position Functions: Digital Content Creation, Web Updates, Web Support, Web Design, SEO, Writing/Editing

About: The Office of Marketing and Communications at the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences is responsible for digital and print publications, advertising campaigns, websites and digital media for the largest and oldest school at the George Washington University.

The Web Content Assistant works on a small team dedicated to updating and creating content for department and institute websites and providing online help desk assistance to the faculty and staff that maintain over 75 institutional websites. 

We seek a student with a can-do attitude, eye for detail and exceptional communication skills to join our small, fast-paced office. Experience with Drupal or similar content management system and strong HTML/CSS skills are a plus.

Qualifications:

- Experience with Drupal or similar content management system (Joomla, WordPress, etc.)
- Experience hand-coding HTML/CSS. Bonus points for knowledge of XML, PHP or JavaScript
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of web content best practices and SEO
- Web graphic creation (Photoshop or similar software experience)
- Customer service experience, especially for IT (web-related) issues
- Quick and ambitious learner
- Strong attention to detail

Position Functions: Administrative, Information Systems, Technical Support

Environment Background: The Office of Technology Services (OTS) provides technical support to the faculty and staff of GW’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. OTS is seeking an energetic, organized, and computer-savvy individual to support the enterprise cloud initiative within the college. Student systems specialists help coordinate with Faculty and Staff to enhance and refine IT services delivered by OTS. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the virtualized applications and desktops available to the users in order to answer questions and provide brief trainings.

Job Summary: This is a customer service job, and as such, we are looking for friendly people with effective communication skills.  

Responsibilities include:

- Scheduling, onboarding, and training faculty & staff on the IT services offered
- Collaborate with the systems team to continue to build out endpoint management tools like SCCM and JAMF Casper Suite
- Act as a Junior Project Manager and work with the Sr. IT Business Analyst to design, develop, and enhance new IT systems and services.
- Provide internal Tier III Support for end user technical support incidents
- Transporting, installing, and testing computer hardware, software, and peripherals on the GW campus
- Troubleshooting technical issues via phone and email, in addition to making on-site visits
- General office support, including organizing equipment and filing paperwork
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

-Experience building, designing, and maintaining small-to-medium information systems
-Understanding of endpoint management tools and concepts, including JAMF Software Server and Microsoft SCCM
-Previous experience in a technical IT role, part-time experience is acceptable.

Environment Background: The Office of Technology Services (OTS) provides technical support to the faculty and staff of GW’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. OTS is seeking an energetic, organized, and computer-savvy individual to support the daily operations of the office. Student Technology Specialists help coordinate office logistics, provide technical support both in person and over the phone, and occasionally work on special projects.

Job Summary: This is a customer service job, and as such, we are looking for friendly people with effective communication skills. 

Responsibilities include:

- Answering Help Desk phone calls, and documenting issues using ServiceNow IT Service Management software
- Transporting, installing, and testing computer hardware, software, and peripherals on the GW campus
- Troubleshooting technical issues via phone and email, in addition to making on-site visits
- Updating users on the status of their tickets
- General office support, including organizing equipment and filing paperwork
- Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

This is a customer service job, and as such, we are looking for friendly people with effective communication skills. Introductory to intermediate technical skills are also required.
